Shelley Joseph-Kordell (1947-2003)

Shelley KordellShelley Joseph-Kordell was a pioneer in geriatric care management. More than 20 years ago, she saw the need for advocacy and service to seniors and founded the company “Estates in Transition/Rent a Daughter™.” (now Pathfinder Care Management/Rent A Daughter™) Shelley set the benchmark for care management in the Twin Cities and made professional advocacy for seniors her passion in life.

Shelley’s family, friends, and colleagues have created the Shelley Joseph-Kordell Award and Scholarship Ceremony to honor her life and contributions to the community, and recognize those who work with the elderly. Started in 2005, this annual Ceremony provides the forum to present two Prizes:

  1. The Shelley Joseph-Kordell Award (“the Award”) honors an organization or individual currently working to improve the lives of seniors in the community.
  2. The Shelley Joseph-Kordell Scholarship (“the Scholarship”), recognizes a graduate student who has indicated a commitment to working directly to improve the lives of older people. Established by Shelley’s family and friends, the Scholarship is given through the University of Minnesota.
